Take the Time

Good morning! I hope you were able to rest up this weekend! Today’s topic was inspired by this time in the semester. If you didn’t know, I’m a college student. April is known to be one of the most stressful months of the Spring Semester with all of our papers, tests, projects, etc piling up on top of each other.

So because of this, today we will be discussing the idea of taking the time for yourself.

I had taken a hiatus from all of the self care activities I used to do because there’s this thought that school comes before your mental health and sanity. It’s safe to say that this did not end well!

I think that we ALL can spare FIVE minutes every day to center ourselves. That’s my challenge for you. Carve out just FIVE minutes in your day for ‘you time’. It’s completely up to you how you spend this time. It could be spent by doing some deep breathing exercises and grounding yourself. Or it can be eating a snack and practice mindful eating. Another idea is to watch a short youtube video that gets you laughing.

The actual activity is not the main concern, as long as it is something that benefits you. I think that you’ll start feeling less stressed once you begin to do this because you’re being intentional with your time. You are intentionally taking five minutes to take care of your mental health and that is amazing.
